Alison Woo, “Travel Maven”
Born
of parents who trace their ancestry from
China, Holland, Scotland, England, Malaysia
and France, Alison Woo’s birth in Hong Kong
(then a British territory) set the stage for
a life-long desire for travel and
wanderlust. She has spent her life traipsing
around the globe for passion and purpose. As
a journalist she traveled to the furthest
reaches of southern Africa to detail human
rights issues; in Brazil she witnessed the
extremes of beauty and the ravages of
poverty; and to reconnect with deep
spiritual impulses, she meditated atop Mayan
ruins and pyramids. “My passion for travel
is fueled by my own experience of growing up
with such an unusual background and
realizing that no matter how different
people may seem, we are all one,” Alison
says. “I have been blessed to have traveled
all over the globe but I still some big
dreams like going to Machu Pichu and Tibet
and spending months in Paris.”
